The Spring Thaw

Thanks to the 'warm' weather in Burlington, super-duper bike path adventures have returned! (Having grown-up in Florida, I always feel the need to clarify whether something is really warm or not.  If you were to see a 'warm' note from me, that would mean it was advertised warm on the local news but I wasn't really convinced... keep in mind though, a high of 70 degrees was still a go-ahead for me to wear a turtle neck and athletic letter jacket to high school :)
Check out the ice thaw on Lake Champlain!!

The Playground

The weather in Burlington has been gorgeous lately (near 50 for the high) so we've been traveling around town exploring playgrounds.  We knew the fresh air would be great for Keats and we figured that he'd probably enjoy the swings and maybe some of the sit on toys. We were pleasantly surprised when we realized that most of the area playgrounds have two different 'sets' of equipment, one for 2-5 year olds and one for the 'big' kids...Keats was sure to enjoy a mini slide or climbing 'wall' as well!  Well, to our surprise, our 17 month old little/big guy does NOT like swinging (he signs help as soon as you go to push him the first time) and he thinks the 'mini' playground is just plain boring.  He runs straight for the tallest slide in the area, climbs up the partially enclosed stairs (with one of us spotting him) and goes for it...the only thing that slows him down is deciding to go on his tummy or on his rear (video 2).  Crazy boy!!

Spring Break Part I

After Papa finished the 'creation' stage of his dissertation we couldn't resist the temptation to get out of town (and out of below freezing temperatures!)and celebrate over spring break.  We found a great deal on tickets to Fort Myers so we'll update the blog with some of the fun activities at Grampo and Graneen's!
Fresh tangerines off of the tree in the backyard are not only fun to stick my finger in, they taste yummy too!!!

They even have racecar shopping carts at the new Publix!!!  WOW!
