New POOsting on the Keats Blog

I really wanted to update the blog with a post containing EXCITING news from the Overman-Smith residence...but then I realized that only parents and grandparents could truly understand the level of EXCITEMENT regarding this event.  So, I was considering not posting the news, but then it occurred to me that maybe I could post the news as long as I included some new photos that everyone could enjoy...even those who don't connect with the EXCITEMENT. :)

EXCITING NEWS:  Keats pooped in the big person toilet last evening :) He pointed to his rear, said 'poop'.  Mama asked, do you need to go potty?  Keats said 'ya'.  Momma pulled him out of the bathtub and placed him on the toilet.  Keats giggled and completed the task :).  I cheered, Keats wanted back in the tub to play more.

--at least i didn't post pictures of the product...which did briefly run through my mind--thinking of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and the pictures Kate took of all of the 1st poops on the toilet :)

Summer Celebration!

July was a very busy and exciting month for us that left little time for blogging (imagine that)!  We went to the Crumpacker 4th of July festival, Granny's 60th birthday party, a week in Bloomington partying with Grampo and Graneen while L & M escaped to California, the Indy Children's Museum, the Kentucky Derby Museum...and I'm sure I'm missing out on much more.

Now we're very busy adjusting to a new schedule here in Vermont.  Mama started one of her new jobs (and loves it), Keats started daycare (a much tougher transition than we had anticipated) and we're trying to suck the marrow out of the summer weather here in Burlington by biking and/or beaching it daily :).  xoxoxo-MLK

Granny's 60th Party!

The first father-son performance of many, I'm sure.  Keats LOVED the karaoke equipment!

Ricee's Capitola Wedding

Yes, it really was that beautiful!

Ricee, Char and Marg reunite on the dance floor.  Yes, the 'fishing' dance is still cool. Hoo-Hoo-Hoo- Hoosiers! :)

'Baby Whisperer' Lance as he was called by the wedding guests. :)

L & M California Get-Away!

* Keats spent the entire week at CampO (with Graneen and Grampo) while we celebrated the happenings of the past year together in the San Francisco area.

The morning view out of our cabin at the West Point Inn! Hidden under the layer of fog is the Muir woods (red woods) National Park and the San Francisco Bay Bridge!
